The Suzuki Cappuccino is the little race car that could; a true go-cart on steroids. Coming in at a tick under 1,600 lbs. with 50/50 weight distribution what's not to love? This is one of the few cars that can make a Miata look big, coming in at merely 130" long by 55" wide it's amazing how much can be crammed in such a small package. This particular pocket rocket has been modified a bit more than your average one making it a true head-turner (as if it didn't already.) The custom Pearl White paint looks fantastic! While it originally left the factory in Swift Platinum Metallic (0DE), the color change was recently done by us as it was imported for personal use for our shop as a display vehicle.

There's no doubt about it the driver cockpit is cozy, but in turn very driver-focused. At the end of the day, these were economy cars so they didn't come particularly option laden. The Original leather steering wheel connects the pilot to the drive wheels, and the unassisted steering is very direct. As a whole, the interior has been kept in excellent condition. The leather shows well for its age with no severe cracking, however, the driver's bolster does have a bit of wear from squeezing in and out over the years. Due to the height, you have to sink down into it, so it's not uncommon for that spot to see a bit more wear. The stock seats offer excellent support and really hug both driver and passenger well. The gearbox is in the perfect location and has superb layout. The power windows are located on the center console and operate as they should. Climate control is functioning perfectly as it should with ice cold AC. Arguably the most unique piece with these is that the rear window has the ability to drop down within the body, creating a full convertible experience. You can also choose to remove the center section alone, thereby creating a Targa or T-top configuration. You're certainly not going to find anything else around with so many different available options.

Under the bonnet, a turbocharged version of Suzuki F6A sits behind the rear axle. The little three-cylinder currently has just under 50K verified miles which is nothing for this little guy. Superior weight distribution and zippy power delivery make the Cappuccino a more compelling drive than almost every other competitor in the Kei class. Rated at 64hp, it feels faster due to its weight advantage over cars built today. The 657cc three cylinder fires up easily and idles with a distinct burble thanks to a aftermarket exhaust. The transmission is notchy and precise as the manual slots into all five forward gears happily. Clutch is in excellent working order. The gearing is good enough for highway jaunts and not be as wrung out as some of the shorter geared kei's but it does get up to 84mph as that’s where the factory speed limiter is set. Due to the sheer size of the suspension, the ride is on the stiff side. Being that it is a micro sports car so it fits in line with the Cappuccino's personality. Along with a fresh oil change we have also thrown in a new battery as well as replaced the alternator & belts and did a brake flush. While it may not be the obvious choice for a sports car, the mighty Cappuccino is perhaps the best value out there. As the great Colin Chapman said "adding lightness" is the key to great vehicle dynamics. Its sporty nature, quick spooling motor, and classic RWD layout make this little Suzuki an incredibly unique Japanese Classic.
